Challenge was a small press poetry periodical edited by Lilith Lorraine (Mary M. Wright) and published by Avalon Arts Academy. Assistant editors were Stanton A. Coblentz and Evelyn Thorne.

Lilith Lorraine began publishing Challenge in the 1950s. The subtitle for the publication was "The Poetry of the Atomic Age", and the focus was on science fiction and weird fantasy poetry.

Issue three was released in Winter 1950. Issue 4 came out in Spring 1951.

Contributing artists included Ralph Rayburn Phillips providing illustrations. Writers contributing included Alan Donovan, Earle Franklin Baker, R. J. Banks, Jr., Isabelle E. Dinwiddle, Dariell Dunay, Vera L. Eckert, W. Paul Ganley, Clive Jackson, John W. Jakes, Vera Bishop Konrick, Orma McCormick, Edith Ogutsch, Anton Reeds, Lillian Roberts, Emili A. Thompson, Michael Wolf, and Clark Ashton Smith.
