Bird's Nest Zine Library

Bird's Nest Zine Library is a not-for-profit anarchist zine lending library. Our collection includes zines, comics, chapbooks and some indiepressmagazines. Currently our catalogue contains nearly 700 publications, most of which are political, music and perzines. We’re focusing on increasing community awareness, recruiting volunteers and adding more zines to our inventory, particularly local and regional zines. Bird's Nest Zine Library functions as a collective and is completely run by volunteers. We are committed to providing zines and zine making resources to our community at no cost.

Events and Projects

We held our first no-cost community zine making workshop in July 2010 and look forward to holding more community zine making and storytelling classes. We presented at the Zine Librarian's (Un)Conference in Portland, Oregon on August 30, 2010, and table regularly at community events.

Bird's Nest Zine Library opened June 26, 2010 and originally consisted of the combined zine collections of Allynn Carpenter and Lindsae Williams, who created the library.

We are located on the third floor of the Community Building at 35 W Main in downtown Spokane, Washington. We are open for lending 2-6 pm every Thursday and 1-5 pm every Friday, or by appointment.Have any sweet zines you want to share? Donations of zines are always welcome and appreciated.
