Bird's Nest Zine Library is a not-for-profit Anarchist zine lending library.

The collection includes zines, comics, chapbooks and some indie press magazines. Currently the catalogue contains nearly 700 publications, most of which are political, music and perzines. Their focus is on increasing community awareness, recruiting volunteers and adding more zines to the inventory, particularly local and regional zines. Bird's Nest Zine Library functions as a collective and is completely run by volunteers. They are committed to providing zines and zine making resources to our community at no cost.

Events and Projects

Bird's Nest Zine Library held their first no-cost community zine making workshop in July 2010. They presented at the Zine Librarian's (Un)Conference in Portland, Oregon on August 30, 2010, and table regularly at community events.

History

Bird's Nest Zine Library opened June 26, 2010 and originally consisted of the combined zine collections of Allynn Carpenter and Lindsae Williams, who created the library.
