In the mid-1980s, Anderson founded SkyRiver Press which was, in the beginning, a half ton Challenge letterpress and two table top letterpresses. She later sold the letterpresses and SkyRiver Press became digital. Under its imprint she published selections from her poems and stories in her zines Reddog Review, Driftwork and Ghostwriter. At that time she was also very active in the passionate discussions and battles on alt.zines. As SkyRiver Press, Asha also collaborated with Michael Barth/Bathtub Productions to produce various interdisciplinary events showcasing a wide range of artists including musicians, poets, actors, storytellers, dancers and mimes.
