San Diego-born Adam Gnade is a writer, musician, and zinester.

As a musician, he is often lumped into the New Weird America folk music scene. He has released a number of recordings on his own, as well as with the US labels Punch Drunk Press and DeathBombArc as well as the UK labels Try Harder and Drowned In Sound.

He has published one novel (Hymn California, 2008), one hardcover novella on the Oxford, England press Double Suns (California, 2012), and four zine novellas (Seasons Loving Nothing 2007, The Darkness to the West 2008, Hey Hey Lonesome 2011, and the Heat and the Hot Earth 2011.) He's also the author of the gluten-free vegan cookzine Let Gluten Freedom Ring (2011), a health-based zine called Get Healthy (2007) for the record label run by Sufjan Steven, Asthmatic Kitty, and a pocketsize canvas cover zine called Warning: If You Try To Do Something Different (2011.)
