Sasha Cagen
Sasha Cagen was publisher of the nineties zine Cupsize.
Co-edited with Tara Needham, Cupsize tackled a range of topics from politics and feminist issues to more personal writing. A story from Cupsize about Sasha and a friend going to a strip club and recounting the experience was featured in The Factsheet Five Zine Reader.
Today she continues to write and publish. She is the founding editor and publisher of To-Do List, a magazine of meaningful minutiae that used the idea of a to-do list to explore the details of daily life. To-Do List was named the reader's choice as Best New Magazine of 2000 in the Utne Reader Alternative Press Awards. Cagen is also the author of Quirkyalone: A Manifesto for Uncompromising Romantics (Harper San Francisco, 2004) and has appeared on the BBC, Anderson Cooper 360° on CNN, CNN Headline News, "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" on MSNBC, and NPR's "Day to Day". Her writing has appeared in the Village Voice, Utne, Men's Health, Women's Health, San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Chronicle Magazine, Bitch, A Girl's Guide to Taking Over the World, and The Factsheet Five Zine Reader.
In 2013, selections from Cupsize were included in the anthology The Riot Grrrl Collection, edited by Lisa Drams and published by The Feminist Press in New York, NY.
