Scissors and chainsaws

Scissors and Chainsaws is a diary comic zine from Belgium, created by Nina Zina (Echo Zines) during International Zine Month (IZM). The first issue was made in July 2013 and the second in July 2020.

For each day of the month July, a comic page describes personal and daily stuff happening in the author's life. In the story, Chainsaw Bunny, a stuffed bunny with a chainsaw, plays an important role as well as Nina Zina's friends. The chainsaw happens to be Chainsaw Bunny's favorite tool, whereas the author swears by scissors (and glue, pens and paper). In the second issue of Scissors and Chainsaws there's also a focus on the covid-19 pandemic and lockdown and the global political situation. At the same time, by adding the IZM prompt for each day, readers are encouraged to participate in International Zine Month themselves.

This a-comic-a-day-zine was printed on recycled paper with a foam book mark. Possibly a second issue might be made by the end of 2014 or 2015.
