From ZineWiki

I nominate this page for deletion: A Livejournal should be not be considered a webzine. I looked at it (oddly it's not linked in this article) and it's a typical lj with a mix of writing, personal info, diary-like entries. While ZineWiki is primarily about print media, we have opened the door to webzines, but opening the door to everyone's Livejournals would dilute the intent and content of this wiki. I do think the author's webzine Pilcro News however deserves it's own article. Plus this reads like a classified ad, rather than an encyclopedia entry. dan10things 18:12, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your honest contribution. I'm beginning to see your point and would like to clarify that my blog account with lj never was meant to provoke confusion over the similarities in doubling as a zine. My blog serves to gather opinion that I might find constructive only to the compilation of the pdf files as a whole; a sort of free-for-all insight of what's to come in newer issues of pilcrow news, which I consider part of the print media category of journalism. I don't harbor any desire to break the rules on this wiki platform, and I have corrected my mistake in creating a snippet "slavezombie". I hope that my readers will see the tiny mistakes I commit and have the good faith to point me in the right direction as you have just done. --Henry 20:21, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Yeah Henry, we all have livejournals that serve a similar purpose. That's what lj is for writers, a place to explore ideas and random thoughts in a free writing style, which we can later mine for material for our zines. But this is an encyclopedia of zines, it's about the final product you produce in the end, not all the scraps of paper and post its with notes on them you draw from. And if we open the door to everyone adding in their livejournals, because believe me most zinesters have them, the actual articles about zines on ZineWiki will be lost in the piles of articles. The focus of this wiki is and will remain print zines, there are tons more, and better resources for indexing and describing electronic resources. 128.95.243.205 21:12, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Henry, I think you're a little confused about the wiki, now this article title is called "news" and it's a classified ad for your current issue. Really I think you should do two pages, one for your webzine with the title "Pilcrow News" and one for yourself, entitled "slavezombie". On the Pilcrow News article, it should read like an encyclopedia listing about your webzine, rather than a classified ad. Like someone else wrote a summary about the zine. And it should be timeless, so if someone read it 5 years from now it would still be a good summary of what your zine was about, rather than what just one issue was about (although it's great to list your separate issues and their contents if you want to go that far into detail, see Wherewithal for an example of a short zine description and then the contents of a couple of issues listed below it. On your user page, go to town and do whatever you want, that's a personal page. Most people use them to tell people a little about themselves, it's also a great place to put ordering info for your zine. Make sense? dan10things 21:27, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
