Sheffield Zine Fest
The first Sheffield Zine Fest was in 2013 on Saturday 16th March at Electric Works, Sheffield. There was an afterparty at the Showroom Café with zine readings, music and dancing.
They also ran a mini-zine fest with Edge of the Universe Printing Press on Saturday 2nd November at Bank Street Arts, with the workshops running afterwards.
In 2014 the zine fest was held on Saturday 15th March, returning to Electric Works.
Their afterparty was at The Rutland Arms, featuring live music from Ian Ashworth, Nat Johnson and Katherine Jackson, live art from Steve Larder, Comparing by Chella Quint, and zine readings by Richard Bolam, Steve Larder, Henry Raby, Tukru Dearest, Emma Falconer, Sarah Christie and Roy Clutterbuck.
The third annual Sheffield Zine Fest was held on March 14th, again at Electric Works, with a full schedule of workshops. There were zine readings and open mic, compered by Sarah Thoamsin and featuring Poor Lass zine. They also raised funds for SAYiT - Sheffield's LGBT youth group.
In 2016 the fest was held on Saturday April 30th, with a change of venue to Hallam Hubs. It was part of the Year of Making, and teamed up with Girl Gang Sheffield and Nightowls for evening entertainment. They were supported by SHU Students’ Union LGBT+ Liberation Group, and fundraised for SAYiT (Sheffield’s LGBT youth group).
2017's event was once again held at Hallam Hubs, on Saturday February 25th.
